Google Webmaster Tools and Analytics
Google provides a lot of statistical information about your website which you can access everyday. Click on the link to go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ and submit your website domain name. Follow the instructions Google provides how to set up your account and how to verify it by inserting a short text in your website’s html file. Submitting a Sitemap to Google will also benefit your website and tell Google crawlers which pages to index.
The stats information will tell you how your website performs:
- How many search queries each of your pages had
- How many internal and external links your website has
- Keywords searches
- How often you update your website and create new pages
- Website diagnostics – if there are any errors detected by the crawlers or malware
- How fast your website opens
- Any content issues Google crawlers may detect – duplicated content, problematic title or meta tags, missing tags
You will see the benefits in improvement of your website performance and you can respond quicker to any issues or problems Google finds. After all, more data is better, and anything that can improve your website performance is a good news.
